Candidate Filing Begins Today
Candidate filing begins today and continues through 5:00 p.m. March 11, 2022, for the June 7, 2022, Statewide Direct Primary Election.
If an incumbent fails to file for office by 5:00 p.m. on March 11, 2022, a 5-calendar day extension period begins during which any qualified person other than the incumbent may file. The deadline for the extension period is 5:00 p.m. March 16, 2022.
The Voter Registration and Elections (VRE) Office is located at 7000 65th Street, Suite A, Sacramento and is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday excluding holidays.
