Candidate Filing Begins Monday
Candidate filing begins Monday, July 13, 2020, and continues through 5:00 p.m. August 7, 2020, for the November 3, 2020, Presidential General Election.
If an incumbent fails to file for office by 5:00 p.m. on August 7, 2020, a 5-calendar day extension period begins during which any qualified person other than the incumbent may file. The deadline for the extension period is 5:00 p.m. August 12, 2020.
The Voter Registration and Elections (VRE) Office is located at 7000 65th Street, Suite A, Sacramento and is offering Online Appointment Scheduling on our website. Appointments are available from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday excluding holidays.
