PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY ELECTION UPDATE
Voting has Officially Begun


Voter Registration and Elections (VRE) has begun delivering Vote by Mail (VBM) ballots to the U.S. Postal Service for distribution to all registered voters in the County for the March 5, 2024, Presidential Primary Election.

Updated information on the days and hours of operation for Official Ballot Drop Boxes or upcoming Vote Center locations may be viewed by visiting:

No postage is necessary for voters returning their ballots by U.S. Mail using the pink Vote by Mail envelope.

In accordance with California Election Code 14422 and California Code of Regulations 20142, Sacramento County will be picking up voted ballots at all Vote Center locations between 11:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Election Day.

Official Ballot Drop Boxes located throughout the County are now open

​Tuesday, February 20

​Close of v​​oter registration for this election. Voter registration forms must be postmarked by this date or delivered to the VRE Office at 7000 65th Street, Suite A, Sacramento 95823 by 5:00 p.m. Online voter registration must be completed before midnight on this date at www.registertovote.ca.gov

Wednesday, February 21

Conditional Voter Registration (CVR) begins

​Saturday, February 24

11 Day Vote Centers open

​Tuesday, February 27

Last day a Vote by Mail (VBM) ballot can be mailed to you. After this date, VBM ballots are only available at the VRE Office or at any of the 88 Vote Centers located throughout the County. Please for days and hours of operation.

All Vote Centers open throughout the County

Tuesday, March 5
