Registration Deadline Approaching and
Conditional Voter Registration to Begin

Monday, October 19, 2020, is the last day to register to vote or update your registration for the November 3, 2020, Presidential General Election. Residents are encouraged to register at or pick-up a voter registration form at any post office or the Elections Office at 7000 65th Street, Suite A, Sacramento 95823. To be registered, the voter registration form must be filled out completely, signed and postmarked by October 19, or hand-delivered to the Elections Office by 5:00 p.m. on October 19.

Conditional Voter Registration (CVR) begins Tuesday, October 20, at the Elections Office and is available at all Vote Centers when they open (see Key Election Dates below). Conditional Voter Registration information is available on our website. Residents who are unsure of their voter registration status may use the voter registration lookup​ on the website to determine their status.

Voters are encouraged to vote their ballot, sign their pink Vote by Mail envelope and return their ballots early. Information on the days and hours of operation for Ballot Drop Boxes and Vote Center locations is available on the VRE website at, or use the direct links below.

​Ballot Drop Boxes are located throughout the County and are open through Election Day. See the Ballot Drop Box list for locations, days and hours of operation.

​Close of voter registration for the November 3, 2020, Presidential General Election. Voter registration forms must be postmarked by this date or delivered to the VRE Office at 7000 65th Street, Suite A, Sacramento 95823 by 5:00 p.m. Online voter registration must be completed before midnight on this date at

11 Day Vote Centers open

​Last day a Vote by Mail (VBM) ballot can be mailed to you. After this date, VBM ballots are only available at the VRE Office or Vote Centers
